Canaan Dog

Overview

Some say the Canaan dog has roots in Biblical times; that their direct ancestors were used by the Hebrews for herding in the land of Canaan. Having lasted so long, it comes as no surprise that the Canaan dog is a natural survivor. They are athletic, alert and incredibly quick learners. They are defensive, but not necessarily aggressive, and can fit nicely into a home with small children if given proper leadership and regular exercise.
